What the Next Chapter Means to Me

During the first weekend in August, we officially closed one chapter and opened another. After five years in our STUDIOescape™ space — and many years before that in my home studio — we moved into our new, downsized location. And while the move itself took only a few days, the emotions behind it have been building for months.
I didn’t fully realize how much I had accumulated in the old office until we started packing. Every shelf, every drawer, every corner held something: tools I used in the early days, décor that had become part of our identity, supplies from workshops, memories tucked into unexpected places. Some items were easy to let go of. Others carried stories. Many found their way to St. Francis House in Sioux Falls, SD, where they’ll continue serving someone else’s next chapter.
And then there were the things that came with us — not because they were needed, but because they were meaningful. Those pieces will be reviewed, sorted, and thoughtfully chosen as we settle into the new space. Downsizing isn’t just about square footage. It’s about clarity. It’s about deciding what truly supports the work we do and the community we serve.
Gratitude That’s Hard to Put into Words
A move like this doesn’t happen alone. I am deeply, deeply grateful to the people who showed up, lifted, sorted, hauled, cleaned, encouraged, and made this transition possible: Pat, Teresa, Lindie, Jenny, Laura, Julie, Dave, Cheryl, Sydney, Josh, Breanna, Andy, and Isabelle.
There are no words big enough to express my appreciation. Every person brought heart, humor, and strength to a weekend that could have felt overwhelming. Instead, it felt like community. It felt like love.
Honoring the Space That Held So Much
Five years in our old location created a lifetime of memories. That space saw growth, transformation, vulnerability, breakthroughs, and friendships that will last forever. It held the laughter of workshops, the quiet focus of STUDIOescape™ sessions, and the stories of clients who trusted us with their most precious memories.
Leaving it wasn’t easy. But the memories aren’t tied to the walls — they’re tied to the people. And those people are coming with us.
A New Space, A New Chapter
Our new STUDIOescape™ location may be smaller, but it is intentional. It is warm. It is focused. It is designed to support the next evolution of BGL & Associates LLC and STUDIOescape™.
We are making changes — some big, some small — but the heart and soul remain the same. The mission remains the same. The commitment remains the same.
And yes, our workshop and training space is now more intimate — but that’s part of the beauty of this next chapter. Smaller groups mean deeper conversations, more personalized guidance, and a chance for participants to feel truly seen and supported. STUDIOescape™ has always been about connection, and this new space allows us to lean into that even more.
Whether it’s a hands on photo organizing session, a legacy writing workshop, or a focused training on building your FOREVER® ecosystem, the new STUDIOescape™ will continue to be a place where people learn, grow, and preserve what matters most.
And this next chapter arrives at a meaningful moment: We are celebrating our 30th anniversary in the photo management industry. (Yes, I started when I was three. Obviously.)
Thirty years of helping people save, organize, and share their family legacy. Thirty years of honoring memories. Thirty years of walking alongside clients as they preserve the stories that matter most.
What This Next Chapter Means to Me
It means opportunity. It means clarity. It means joy. It means friendship. It means a whole lot of emotions — the good kind, the meaningful kind, the kind that remind you you’re doing something that matters.
There is some trepidation (maybe that’s the right word, maybe it isn’t), but it’s the kind that comes with growth. With change. With stepping into something new while carrying everything you’ve learned.
This next chapter is about refining, focusing, and elevating the work we do. It’s about creating a space that supports connection, creativity, and legacy. It’s about honoring where we’ve been and embracing where we’re going.
And most of all, it’s about continuing the journey of helping people preserve their precious family memories — because those stories deserve to be saved, shared, and celebrated.
Join Us in the New STUDIOescape™
As we settle into our new STUDIOescape™ location, I would love for you to be part of this next chapter with us. Our workshop and training space may be more intimate now, but that simply means deeper conversations, more personalized guidance, and a chance to truly focus on your photo organizing goals. If you’ve been thinking about starting your FOREVER® journey, tackling a photo management project, or joining a STUDIOescape™ session, this is a beautiful time to jump in. Let’s continue preserving your family legacy — together.
Here’s to the next chapter. Here’s to the people who helped us get here. Here’s to the memories we’ve made — and the ones still to come.
